Child Abuse Intervention Procedure
(Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, 2010)
- Concerns about child abuse raised
- Report to police, hospitals, or agencies directly and the child's protection agencies (the children aid societies) will get involved
- The children aid society investigates the case
- The children aid society may start a court application against the child's parents or caregivers if the abuse is true
- The child may be removed from the parents or caregivers who commit abuse
